Partial Lunar Eclipse 5:10AM PST 12/10/11
Lunar Eclipse With Cloud Background

As we wait for the definite answer as to when we will travel I find it best to fill the time with other interests (i.e. lunar eclipse).  I ask myself would I have gotten up at 5:00AM to take a picture and post to our blog this lunar eclipse.  I believe it is the small things in life that bring the most happiness to our lives.  For some reason this lunar eclipse peeked my interest, I was kind of like a kid that could not sleep waiting to get up in the early morning to see what Santa brought this year.  This time Santa brought me a lunar eclipse….

Great News!

Family and Friends–
It is with absolute joy that we share our official match with a 20 month old boy, born on March 5th, 2010.  He was relinquished to an orphanage in northern Thailand by his mother. Our agency first shared him with us in August 2010 when we immediately said YES, but we were waiting for ANY confirmation from Thailand that we were matched with him. Today, we received that call.  Officially on paperwork he is OURS!

So, what happens now is we send our Acceptance Letter back to the DSDW (Department of Social Welfare and Development) and then we wait for our “To Whom It May Concern” Letter. This letter will give us our court date in Thailand and give us our solid timeline for travel. This process could still take anywhere from 3-7 months. Our prayers have always been to be able to bring our child home before they turned three, God’s plan is shaping up and we believe we’ll definitely have him home by three, and maybe, just maybe by two! When we bring him home, we will still go through 6 months of home visits before travelling to the Thai Embassy to receive the rest of his citizenship paperwork.

As you may have heard there is horrible, devastating flooding occurring in Thailand–Anuwat is safe and is not impacted by the floods. Also, we will not be able to share photos of our Little Dude until we see you in person. The Thai Government has very strict policies on digital communication with children’s photos. We do not want to jeopardize any part of the process.

Thank you for all your prayers during this long, first part of our journey. Please continue to pray for our little family to be united soon.

Love and Peace

Adoption Process Explanation From Bangkok Press

The Bangkok press has put together an excellent explanation of the adoption process.  For a complete explanation on why the adoption process through Thailand takes time, click here.

Thai Unrest

It has been awhile since we have posted anything to our site and want to give our family and friends an update.  As you can imagine we are getting anxious, because it has been a year and a few months since we submitted our initial paperwork.  Unfortunately, Thailand is experiencing political unrest inside the country at this time.  This ultimately will slow down or stop all adoptions being processed through Thailand.  If you are interested in reading more, I have attached a link to the Bangkok Press. More importantly we ask for your prayers that peace will be reached very soon in Thailand. Pray our adoption and anyone seeking to adopt worldwide.  We appreciate it.   Thank you.     Love, Cary & Gabrielle

Fishing

Fishing 002Fishing 001On Sunday Jerry and I went fishing and we caught a couple of salmon (pinks) in the Puget Sound.  It was alot of fun!

Our Garden

This last spring we joined the Auburn Pea Patch, along with my step mother Peggy. We received a 10′ x 20′ plot and planted our garden 1 week prior to mothers day weekend.  We have lettuce, carrotts, leeks, fennel bulb, green beans, cabbage, tomatos, cucumbers, baby bell peppers, squash and corn all growing.  It has been alot of fun and with the warm spring our garden is going great.  Check out some of our garden pictures.

Christian Duhamel – Composer Releases – “Here With Me”

Last night at Martin’s off Madison in Seattle I witnessed my favorite brother in law show case his musical talents.  He invited friends, family and many theatre people who all came to listen to his musical writing and performance talents.  Prior to last night I knew Christian had a passion for theatre and was really good, however I did not know how awesome he really is.  He put together a sampling of his favorite musical pieces.  Christian is offering a very special song book containing his favorite pieces for all to review at an excellent price. This can be pre-ordered and will be mailed to an address of your choice. His good friend, motivator and coordinator Charissa Bertels announced proudly of Christian’s dreams and plans to compose Broadway theatre productions.  Last night was one of his first major moves towards fulfilling this dream.

I am a bit biased as my favorite song Christian Duhamel composed is “Here With Me”.  He wrote this piece for our wedding and I had not heard it since July 02, 2005 on our wedding day.  Being that it was originally played in a cavernous church and my mind was running across multiple topics I longed to hear it again.  This piece was essentially about how I proposed to his sister and my beautiful bride. How awesome it was to hear it up close and live! It brought tears of joy to my heart.  With only 24 days until we reach our 4 year wedding anniversary this song is a bright reminder of how lucky I am.  I hope it strikes a chord in others hearts in similar ways.

Lastly, I know Christian Duhamel had some professionals who recorded the entire show last night. He privately told my wife and I that he plans to release a CD of this live show.  I am extremely excited to have a copy of this CD and look forward to purchasing a copy.

Congratulations to Christian Duhamel and all his professional and personal friends who made this show happen last night.
Thank you, for being you!
Cary Wright

P.S. Christian Duhamel has appeared in the “ONCE UPON A TIME IN NEW JERSEY” at the Village Theatre.  Most recently he was in “SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN SISTERS” performed at the 5th Avenue Theatre.  I know this is only the beginning of Christian Duhamel’s storied career.

Our Family

As you may know we are in the process of adopting a child from Thailand. We decided it would be helpful and fun to start this blog for our family and friends. Our adoption process started back in late November 2008, after answering many of our own questions. First we decided upon wanting a child between the ages of 1 – 3. Then we decided upon domestic or international adoption and Thailand kept coming back to us. We are not exactly 100% sure why we decided on Thailand; however we know that it just felt right. We are trying to let God help steer us in all our decisions during this adoption. After much discernment and a very informative WACAP information meeting we decided to move forward with much excitement and anticipation. We quickly completed our WA state home study and some initial paperwork in late December 2008. We then started working on our dossier. The dossier is a compilation of medical, financial, references and much more information about us. Our dossier was sent to Olympia, WA and then onto WA, D.C. for the Secretary of State to finalize (Hillary Clinton) in early May 2009. We were just informed on Friday May 29, 2009 that our dossier was shipped to Thailand. At this point we pray that it is sitting on a desk in Thailand waiting for an official to review. We appreciate all of your support and prayers as we look forward to adding a child to our family.
